About Me

In case you haven't guessed, my name is Matthew Pealing. I am a self taught website and graphic designer based in Ellesmere Port, North West England. I offer professional design services at affordable prices. Due to the fact that I am still a student; I believe in charging smaller fees than more established companies and designers. For more information on the services I provide, check out my services page.

I am using this website to showcase my best work to date aswell as to network with anyone interested in my work or services and fellow designers. I have completed a temporary work placement as a designer for msoftesolutions.com whilst studying at university. Some of my work for MSoft can be seen in my portfolio section.

I have plenty of features to add to this website that are yet to be completed, so sit tight!

Experience

I like to complete all of my projects using Adobe Photoshop for any graphic work and Adobe Dreamweaver for putting my projects together. I normally use Dreamweaver's WYSIWYG environment however all of my CSS code is hand coded, I also sometimes hand code my HTML if necessary. There are also many other key technologies that are essential to building an effective website. Below are the web technologies in which I feel I have considerable experience in:

Aswell as this, I am currently teaching myself more about JavaScript; and feel that my progress is coming along quite well and can already use it to enhance my work for my clients. I also have a reasonably good understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Education

I am currently studying a Bsc in Internet Technology at Liverpool Hope University. However, I first discovered my passion for design when I was in college in 2004. After gaining a distinction grade on a double module in Website Design and Development, I instantly knew that it was what I wanted to do for a career.

Upon completing my Diploma in I.T. at West Cheshire College, I decided to study another Diploma in Art and Design at the same college to improve my design skills before starting university.

Before, and during my course in university; I have been teaching myself the necessary skills needed to be an efficient designer. I have done this mainly through the use of books and through the endless websites available for designers to learn and discuss their ideas. I have also gained some valuable experience through my work at MSoft.
